Persuasion and Communication – John Davies

How do we gain someone’s attention and hold it in a society filled with distractions? We are not only competing with our competition, but also with various hand held devices and so on. The answer, John Davies says, is face-to-face interaction. This type of communication allows for greater analysis of a person’s nonverbals and ultimately lets you develop a more persuasive message that will make or break your success in the business world. Nonverbal communication and behavior Davies discusses include dilated pupils, eye contact, body talk, economy of motion, and more — all of which have contributed to his company’s success.

John Davies is a communications strategist and owns a successful PR firm. He gave this lecture to a group of UCSB students earlier this year.
